Abacus Windows has been a family-run business since it was founded by Ian Ferguson in 1992. For over 34 years, we’ve built our reputation on quality manufacturing, honest advice and long-lasting relationships with homeowners, trade customers and commercial clients across Essex and the South East. Today, the business continues to be led by Ian alongside his sons, Gareth and James, combining decades of industry experience with the next generation of leadership. Managing Director
Ian Ferguson entered the window and glazing industry in 1986 at the age of 19 before founding Abacus Windows in 1992. Over the past four decades, he has built the business on a commitment to quality, reliability and exceptional customer service.
As Managing Director, Ian continues to oversee every aspect of the business, ensuring the same high standards and family values that established Abacus Windows over 34 years ago remain at the heart of everything we do.
Commercial Director
Gareth joined Abacus Windows in 2007 at just 15 years old, beginning his career on the factory floor and learning every stage of the manufacturing process from the ground up.
Now aged 34, Gareth has spent 19 years in the window and glazing industry. As Commercial Director, he works closely with homeowners, installers, architects, developers and commercial clients, providing technical guidance, project support and tailored solutions for projects of every size.
Alongside nearly two decades of practical industry experience, Gareth also holds a First Class Honours degree in Business, helping drive the continued growth and development of Abacus Windows.
Production Manager
James joined Abacus Windows at the age of 15, following the same hands-on route through the factory and manufacturing process.
Today, as Production Manager, James oversees the day-to-day running of production, ensuring every window, door and aluminium system leaving the factory meets the high standards our customers have come to expect
His attention to detail, product knowledge and commitment to quality play a key role in maintaining the reputation Abacus Windows has built over more than three decades.
